DCL Corporation is currently seeking an R& D Chemist who will be responsible for working on projects to correct quality problems used in the manufacture of organic pigments, optimizing existing operations, and troubleshooting process issues related to plant unit operations. Will monitor plant processes and equipment to ensure proper raw materials are used and process parameters are correct. Will also conduct hands on experiments utilizing cumulative experience and innovative thinking with a minimum of direct supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Independently conduct hands on experiments, investigate process parameters, and evaluate data to obtain required results.
  • Scale up products to successful plant processes using knowledge of process and equipment, recommend changes, if necessary, writes process permutations, and modify batch sheets accordingly.
  • Write clear and concise reports at regular intervals on the technical status of assigned work projects. Produce effective visual and graphic analysis for reports and presentations. Effectively communicate experimental procedures, data, and result summaries, through entry into lab notebooks, project summary reports and monthly reports.
  • Interface with Manufacturing and investigate process deviations, product non-conformance, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensures that requirements for ISO certification are met in lab operation and experimental notebook.
  • Actively participate in site safety and environmental programs. Follows laboratory safety practices as outlined in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
  • All other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a chemical industry lab synthesizing molecules.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience writing technical reports.

  • Are often exposed to contaminants or hazardous conditions while conducting syntheses.
  • Sit or stand for an extended period.
  • Be able to lift objects up to 25 pounds.
